April Ross

April Ross is only one of the beach volleyball players who have earned medals more than once at an Olympics. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time in Tokyo's Olympics is hoping to secure her third medal. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. It could be the last opportunity she gets at age 39. But she's still confident of achieving top honours. Ross said on NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even if we just play well, I think we could win the gold medal." It's also going to be a matter of chance. Ross was born in 1982 and lived within Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started participating in sports at the Newport Harbor High School. In Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of different sports. Being a pre-athlete she was also a participant in indoor volleyball and track. In the last sport, she clearly stood out. As a high school volleyball career in her university biography she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. The results of her efforts were acknowledged in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Players of the Year. She also captured the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Ross and Klineman formed their partnership in 2017, but Ross has been a beach celebrity for a long time prior to. In actual Ross has been a winner of several major tournaments in her career along with her two teammates. One of them is a legend. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until 2013. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the 2009 World Championships. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team and Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings was the replacement for May-Treanor as she announced her retirement. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics 2016. After high school and many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross balled out to the Trojans at USC while an NCAA. Her career was a success in college. Her freshman year in 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year awards and be an All-American. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans to make it to their first Final Four. After her sophomore year, she experienced a terrible personal tragedy, but managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. In her last two seasons as a player, she led the Trojans towards the summit of the mountain by winning two three consecutive championships at the national level. Her individual achievements have cemented her place as a legendary volleyball player. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross, who was a USC international relations student was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter make it to the top in beach volleyball. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer when she was in her sophomore year at USC. Ross holds her mother dear. Margie has been an inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beach.
